Overview
Each of the Clay Mathematics Institute's activities addresses a key component of its mission:
Fellows & Scholars
Clay Research Fellows
The Clay Research Fellowship provides a young mathematician employment under ideal conditions for a period of two to five years. A Fellow may work at the location that best suits his or her research.
Clay Senior Scholars
The Senior Scholars Program is intended to provide support for senior mathematicians to be part of an institute or university program in which they will play a key role and have a significant impact on the work of other mathematicians.
Clay Research Scholars
Clay Research Scholars are supported on research projects of up to one year.
Liftoff Scholars
Liftoff scholars are young research mathematicians who are supported in the summer between their Ph.D. degree and their first job.
Awards
Clay Research Award
Recognition of extraordinary achievement in mathematical research. Presented each year at the Annual Meeting.
Millennium Prize Problems
Placing before the public seven of the grand challenges of mathematics, and giving these challenges the recognition they deserve.
Olympiad Scholar Award
Given for the solution to an Olympiad problem judged most creative. Annual Meeting.
Programs
Summer Schools
The CMI summer schools are instructional conferences whose aim is to furnish a new generation of mathematicians with the knowledge and tools they need to successfully work in an active and important area of mathematics.
Workshops
CMI conducts a program of small workshops which are held at One Bow Street in Cambridge, MA.
Conferences
CMI organizes conferences for experts to exchange ideas, and for students to learn new fields.
Outreach programs
As part of its mission to encourage talented students to pursue mathematical careers, the Clay Mathematics Institute both partners with established outreach programs and pioneers its own program, the Clay Research Academy.
Publications
Books
The Clay Mathematics Institute publishes two book seri\ es with the American Mathematical Society: the Clay Mathematics Monog\ raphs and the Clay Mathematics Proceedings.
Historical Works
The Clay Mathematics Institute, in cooperation with its partners at Libraries Without Walls and the contributing libraries, has a program to make digital facsimiles of significant historical mathematical books and manuscripts freely available.
Collected Works
Collected Works of James Arthur is available.
