Fellows and Scholars
The creative force of individual mathematicians is what drives forward the frontiers of research. To this end CMI appoints individual mathematicians as fellows and scholars - fellows for a period of two to five years, scholars for a term of generally one year or less. These programs - for research fellows, book fellows, senior scholars, and research scholars - are listed below.
Appointments are made by the Scientific Advisory Board based on the application and nomination materials submitted.
Research Fellows
Nominations due October 30
Senior Scholars
Nominations due August 1
Research Scholars
Applications due August 1*
(*) Most funding decisions are made by the Scientific Advisory Board at its Fall meeting. For the indicated programs, occasional appointments are made at later meetings. However, since most funds are allocated at the Fall board meeting, application/nomination by the August date is advisable.
