2006 Senior Scholars


Two Clay Senior Scholars were in residence at MSRI for the period January - May, 2006. First is Jean-Louis Colliot-Thelene (Université de Paris-Sud), who is participating in the program on Integral Points on Higher-Dimensional Varieties.Colliot-Thelene gave a talk at MSRI on "Integral Solutions of Polynomial Equations" on February 6, 2006. Second is Yongbin Ruan (University of Wisconsin), who is participating in the program on New Topological Methods in Physics. Ruan will give a talk at MSRI on "Why Quantum? A Mathematician's Perspective" on February 27, 2006. Yakov Eliashberg (Stanford University) and Robion Kirby (UC Berkeley), will be the Clay Senior Scholars in residence at the IAS/PCMI summer school on three-dimensional geometry in July, 2006. Finally, Peter Newstead will be the Clay Senior Scholar in residence at Boston and Tufts Universities in October 2006 for its Vector Bundles Semester. Professor Newstead will also participate in the CMI workshop on vector bundles to be held in October. The workshop is organized by Emma Previato and Montserrat Teixidor.
